Now tell me about you—

Thanks for logging in and checking out Hideo! I’m Mary, the rehearsal director, and my role is essentially making sure our music rehearsals stay focused and on time. I met Four Lights Productions and Blair as the lead singer for Hideo‘s October production.

Being a music teacher, I’m always “onstage” for 17 to 85 students at a time. It’s not quite the same when you’re the lead in a premiere, and you’re the only acting vocalist, and the event is one of the few in your life that will fulfill a deep-seated desire from childhood: a live performance of the Aria di Mezzo Carattere (desired since 1996).

As a pianist at age 6, game music fan at 12, anime nerd at 14, singer at 21, and director today, this was a culmination of all of my personal musical desires and I – being honored at the opportunity to take part – was nervous as ever upon hearing the string players begin the Aria that Saturday night. It was magical, and I never thought game music could affect me as deeply now as it did when I was younger. The fact that it did is a testament to Hideo’s power and its ability to transform dreams into reality.

My goal is to continue to help produce (through the rehearsal process) quality live music that you find meaningful and powerful. As Four Lights Productions made mine, I hope our performances can inspire and help you make your dreams come true!

Thanks, Jonathan! It was a lot of fun and I’m glad you could make it all the way out from Cal Poly (guess via e-mail address?). We hope to see you at a future event! 🙂
