We’ve been fortunate to have some incredibly talented musicians working with us on Hideo. Not only have we been blessed with top-notch musicians, artists, and actors, but we’re all connected to video game and anime music in some form or another, adding a layer of geek-music-love-bubble-happiness to the whole process.
James Schulz and Taylor Rankin, our bassist and percussionist for both Hideo‘s premiere in October and convention debut at Animation on Display 2011, are both huge fans of not just live music performance, but of the genre itself; both have played Final Fantasy, seen Cowboy Bebop, and James jumped up and down (ok, maybe I’m kidding about the jumping part) when we chose to add Theme of R.O.D from the Read or Die OVA to our rep for AOD 2011.
We’re now in the process of changing hands in our musician database, and we’re looking for two new players: a bassist and a drummer. We’re excited to perform at the upcoming West Coast anime and game conventions, and we hope to find some people who are hard-working, talented, and share the same love and passion for anime and game music that all of us do!
If you’re interested and would like more information about performing as a bassist or drummer for Team Hideo – or know someone who might – please contact me or Blair directly at <[email protected]>.
NOTE: Do not ask about auditions in the commentary. Your commentary should be more along the lines of… well, whatever else you’d like to say about Hideo! 🙂
P.S. After Animation on Display, I became really ill and stayed in bed (literally) for the next five days. I missed both Hideo and school meetings, and didn’t get to spend time with my family and friends. I was off of work that week for the school’s “mid-Winter Break”, but maybe it would have been better to miss school? – just kidding, I love my students. Mostly… :). But apparently, at the Game Developers Conference last week, there was a big “sore throat” bug going around, and many people left GDC last Friday without voices. Did anyone else get sick at AOD? Cons bring not just great live music (thanks to Yukie and all the talented acts!), but also the buggies too…
