Things have been a bit quiet around here. Post PAX found me sick as a dog for a month. A M-O-N-T-H. Then Chris and I took a (much-needed) r&r trip to Disneyland (which was AWESOME, but) from where I got sick AGAIN. I’ve been wallowing in self-pity (I despise being sick) and eating won ton soup over TV instead of attending to our website. But today, all of that changes as I’m pleased to announce our FIRST LIVE PERFORMANCE of 2014: 3pm Saturday, January 25 as part of Animation on Display (AOD) at SFO’s Hyatt Regency Hotel!
I don’t want to give anything away, but this might be one of the pieces we’ll be playing (with more than double the instruments).
This will be our fourth year at AOD, a weekend convention celebrating video games, animation of all kinds, and other fun and geeky stuff. The Hyatt is a new (and bigger!) venue for them this year, so we (and by “we” I mean Chris) decided to celebrate by arranging almost 20 new songs for a special hour-long concert of classic video game and anime tunes from such titles as Super Mario Bros., Cowboy Bebop, The Legend of Zelda, Chrono Cross, Mega Man 2 and 3, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Castlevania… and the list goes on. We’ll have something for everyone! (And If you’ve been waiting all year to learn the fate of Rebecca, Mari, and the rest of The Shiny Mug crew, don’t despair; webisodes for our YouTube channel are in the works!)
Mark your calendars for the weekend of Saturday, January 25 so you don’t miss the all-new Hideo Musical Extravaganza—and all of the awesomeness that is AOD, of course! The show is free with your paid convention registration; tickets and more info here.
