I’m not going to open with anything but this ridiculously awesome trailer:
Borderlands was one of my favorite games of 2009/2010. My friends and I dropped hours upon hours of time into that game exploring every area, looting every chest, and destroying every enemy. I covered the teaser trailer in a blog post last year; Team Hideo is certainly stoked for this.
This launch date trailer has everything I wanted to see: gameplay, guns, skill trees, the debut of the new characters, a dubstepping Claptrap, and the Gearbox humor I’ve come to expect from this franchise. It’s looking fantastic and I feel it’s going to be a long and difficult wait for this one to drop September 18th. My best friend suggested that we prepare by finally tackling those remaining Mad Moxxi challenges that I mentioned in the previous Borderlands blog post… I think that’s a good idea.
IGN has some great additional coverage of the new character classes if you’re interested in more details. I have a feeling everyone will want to play as the seemingly bad-ass Zer0, the assassin who oozes cool and reminds me of Gray Fox from Metal Gear Solid. In any case, I’m looking forward to more info, more gameplay videos, and certainly more Claptrap!
