In my last post, I gave you the rundown of our 2012 plans: conventions, the graphic novel, another studio EP. Today, I’d like to add a new one to the list: we’re taking the audio from the 2011 show and producing a live EP!
We have 48 glorious tracks of audio from the performance at the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo last November. What does this mean? It means we have the complete control over the mixing process that comes with the flexibility of each instrument being recorded to its own track – exactly what you get with a studio recording. Want more piano? No problem. Need to nix some feedback? We can do that, too, without affecting anything else.
So what can you expect on this upcoming EP? A small selection of our best pieces from the show: “Theme of R.O.D.” from Read or Die OVA, “You Were There” from Ico, “Kuro” from Darker Than Black, and “Gravity” from Wolf’s Rain. And when can you expect this EP to be released? You’ll find it at your friendly neighborhood Hideo booth at FanimeCon in May!
I’ll leave you with a taste of “Theme of R.O.D.” via the performance video from our YouTube channel (although the audio in the video is simply the camera audio, NOT representative of the awesome audio we’re working on for the live album!):
