Happy Monday! How can a Monday be happy, you ask? Because it is on this fine Monday I can finally announce Hideo‘s next convention event, an event I’ve been negotiating with the convention organizers for since January.
[insert drumroll here] I am pleased to announce Hideo will be performing as the opening act for FanimeCon 2011’s “Cosplay Spectacular Masquerade” at the (newly renovated) 3,000-seat San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Jose, CA!!
FanimeCon is Northern California’s largest anime convention and is four Memorial-Day-Weekend days of performances, contests, vendors, cosplay, artists, games, tournaments, and industry guests at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Over 16,000 people attended the con last year; this year, attendance is projected to be closer to 20,000.
So where will Hideo be in all this? We will be at the Civic (which is right across the street from the convention center) Sunday, May 29 at 6:30pm to open the cosplay masquerade. The masquerade is a HUGE event at the con and fills up the Civic every year; all 3,000 seats will be occupied. And if you already saw Hideo: Overture at AOD you’ll still be in for a treat: we’ve taken advantage of the larger stage and full sound and lighting equipment by lengthening the opening number, adding additional instruments, and revising the script to include more characters. It will be A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
Mark your calendars for May 29 and prepare for a weekend of anime-tastic events – and Hideo, of course! The show is free with your paid convention registration. Check out www.fanime.com for more information.
Awesome! What’s the set-list for the show?
Oh my god CONGRATS!!! This is gonna be huge! I can’t wait to see you guys at Masq 😀
@Sebastian – I can tell you we’re doing four pieces total, the opening one of which will be the theme from R.O.D., but otherwise I don’t want to give it away! 😉
@Nat – Thanks!! We’ll keep an eye out for you!
