From ICO to Colossus to Man-Eating Eagles

Gary’s and Yasean’s latest posts got me thinking about a game I’m excited for that is tentatively scheduled to be released later this year: The Last Guardian.

The Last Guardian will be the third game by Team ICO, the same makers of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. I’ve been slowly making my way through ICO since we selected the song “You Were There” from the game’s soundtrack for Hideo.  I’m nowhere near finishing it yet, but so far I find ICO to be an amazing game; the implementation of the environment and gamplay mechanics is very much “under the hood,” thus providing a totally immersive experience by bringing the intriguing story and imaginative characters to the forefront.

I have also heard many great things about Shadow of the Colossus, the “spiritual successor” of ICO. I’m a sucker for doing things in order, so I won’t start on it until I make it all the way through ICO, but I have heard some of the music from the soundtrack and that by itself has me looking forward to playing the game. So when I heard about a new game from Team ICO, I hopped on YouTube to find a trailer. My jaw dropped after seeing it. Flying around on a man-eating eagle?? Hell yes!! It is not clear yet if The Last Guardian will be related to the ICO story, but I’m down either way.  🙂
